Ruby L. Chaney

Ruby L. Chaney, 82, of Washington, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in Donnell House. She was born May 1, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of Albert and Ruth Hannam Foringer. Mrs. Chaney worked in the laundry at the Washington Hospital. She enjoyed Bingo and watching golf and football, especially the Steelers. Mrs. Chaney was Protestant. Her husband, Robert Lee Chaney, died in 1994. Surviving are two sons, Gary (Linda) Chaney of Columbia, South Carolina, and Robert D. Chaney of Washington; a daughter, Sandra (David) Poland of Washington; daughter-in-law, Nancy Chaney; two brothers, James Foringer of Washington and Lawrence Amos of West Columbia, South Carolina; a sister, Jean Naser of Washington; seven grandchildren, Grant, Tanya, Heather, Michael, Jessica, Nicholas and Nathan; and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Fred Chaney; a brother, Duane Foringer; and a sister, Janice Sampson. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31st. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
