Jean R. Work Beatty, 85, of Washington, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, in the Washington Hospital. She had been in declining health.
She was born August 16, 1924, in Grafton, West Virginia, a daughter of Josiah and Lydia Miller Stansberry.
Mrs. Beatty was a homemaker.
Her first husband, Kenneth R. Work, died in November 1955.
On December 13, 1960, she married Donald “Jiggs” Beatty, who died August 14, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Richard (Beth) Work of Washington and Kenneth Work of Wildwood, Florida; a daughter, Jeanne (Rob) McWilliams of Naples, Florida; a sister, Leonore VanKirk of Washington, who will turn 95 on Sunday; two grandchildren, Sunny Barger and Brandon McWilliams; and a great-grandchild, Gabriel Barger.
Deceased are two brothers, Clifford and Joel Stansberry; and two sisters, Rilda Estep and Blondina Montgomery.
Friends will be received Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 2nd, with Pastor Pat Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
