Anne Elizabeth Christy

Anne Elizabeth Christy, 87, of Houston, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in her home. She had been in declining health. She was born November 22, 1918, in Washington, a daughter of Nichola and Nancy Rota Consalmagno. Mrs. Christy graduated from Washington High School in 1937. She was a homemaker and helped raise her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and horse races. Mrs. Christy was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. On May 5, 1940, she married Anthony Christy, who died August 31, 1971. Surviving are a son, Richard Christy of Amity; two daughters, Elaine Foglia of Amity and Candice Wood, at home; four grandchildren, Leanna Foglia, Jason Wood, Richard Christy and Kevin Christy; and a great-grandchild, Corey Michael Wood. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a grandson, Glenn McLain; two brothers, Anthony Consalmagno and Miro M. Consalmagno; and two sisters, Catherine Olsen and Mary Consalmagno. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, September 8, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, with the Rev. Robin Evanish as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the church. William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., Washington, is in charge of the arrangements.
