Edith M. Conger

Edith M. Kenimond Conger, 98, of Pikeville, Tennessee, formerly of Washington, died Saturday, September 18, 2010, in Wharton Nursing Home, Pleasant Hill, Tennessee. She was born March 19, 1912, in West Bethlehem Township, a daughter of Winnett R. and icy Dora Reese Kenimond. On July 1, 1937, she married David O. Conger, Jr., who passed away September 29, 1996. She and her husband owned David O. Conger Wholesale Confections for many years in Washington before moving to Florida in 1962. Mrs. Conger also worked as a manager for GNC Stores in Seminole, Florida. She and her husband spent a few years in Ft Myers, Florida before retiring to Spring Hill, Florida in 1985. In 2003, Mrs. Conger moved to Tennessee and shared her life between her children and spouses. She joined Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church in Amity in later years. Surviving are three children, Judith and husband Richard E. Interval of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, David O. Conger, III, and wife Janet Conger of Pikeville, Tennessee, and Robert D. Conger of Oakley, California; a sister, Velma R. Crile of Amity; three grandchildren, Yvonne Frith (Rodney), Richard E. Interval, Jr. and Susan Rosenstiel (Thomas); eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandson, Bryan Interval; four brothers, Charles, George, Wilbert and Frank Kenimond; and three sisters, Sarah Barnhart, Icy Conner and Dorothy Clarke. Friends will be received Saturday from 11 till 2 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Elder James Agnew officiating. Burial in Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, 882 Amity Ridge Road, Amity, PA 15311.
