Lifelong Member of Hickory United Presbyterian Church. Elaine Reedy Caldwell, 82, of Hickory, died on Thursday, August 12, 2010, in the Washington Hospital. She was born on September 30, 1927, in Hickory, a daughter of Hiram E. and Myrtle Marquis Reedy. Mrs. Caldwell graduated from Hickory High School in 1945 and attended Penn Commercial. Mrs. Caldwell was a lifelong member of Hickory United Presbyterian Church. She worked at Jessop Steel, in the Accounting Department, before becoming a receptionist for a dentist in the Washington Trust Building, worked as a librarian assistant for Hickory Elementary School and as a clerk for Weight Watchers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On September 9, 1949, she married John T. “Jack” Caldwell, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Gregory J. Caldwell and Douglas S. Caldwell, both of Hickory; a daughter, Michelle E. Pintar, of Canonsburg; 8 grandchildren, Steven, David, Daniel, Brianne, Julie, Matthew, Christopher and Laura; 4 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Sophia, Emerson and Matt; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, William Reedy. Friends will be received Sunday from 12 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA. Additional visitation will be held at the Hickory United Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 16, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, with Rev. R. Douglas Reinard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery. Family suggests donations to the Hickory United Presbyterian Church Building Fund; 210 Main St. P.O. Box 97 Hickory, PA 15340.
