Eugene Lane Taggart

Owner of Taggart Farms Dealer in Livestock. Eugene Lane Taggart, 82, of Burgettstown, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Washington Hospital. He was born on February 16, 1928, in Washington County, a son of Alvin T. and Wilda Allison Taggart. Mr. Taggart was the owner and operator of Taggart Farms. He was a dealer in livestock. On February 17, 1950, he married Eleanor Gordon, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Donald E. (Cathy) Taggart, of Burgettstown; 3 daughters, Marsha (Stanley) Muscaro, of Burgettstown; Donna M. (George) Smith, of Bethel Park and Tracy L. Taggart, of Burgettstown; a brother, Halden “Bud” Taggart, of Hickory; 6 grandchildren, Stanley Paul Muscaro, Joshua A. and Joseph A. Clemens; Jennifer Davis, Donald B. Taggart and Kristen Galish; 4 great-great grandchildren, Gianna, Connor, Jasmine and Devon; 2 brothers-in-law, John and Gerald Gordon and a sister-in-law, Alice Gordon. Deceased are 2 brothers, A. Duane and Roland Taggart and a sister, Floradale Gray. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, August 14, 2010, with Rev. Michael Krajacic officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery at Patterson Mills. The funeral procession will pass by the farm that Mr. Taggart loved so much.
