Frank Steven Nester

Frank Steven Nester Jr., 78, of Cottageville, South Carolina, formerly of Washington, died Thursday, November 18, 2010. He was born November 12, 1932, in Washington, a son of the late Frank and Helen Nester. Before moving to South Carolina 14 years ago, he worked for Washington Steel for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Washington High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. On July 2, 1958, he married Wanda Mae Lyons of Washington, wife for over 50 years, who preceded him in death earlier this year on May 22. Mr. Nester was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved hunting, fishing, riding his bike and walking. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Surviving are a son Frank A. (Linda) and daughters Rhonda (Jeff) Sonson and Kim Nester. Also surviving are his grandchildren Kacie Nester, Tierney and Jeffrey Sonson; and great grandchildren Carleigh and Zoe Hewett. Deceased is a son, Mark S. Nester. Friends will be received Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
