Nancy White Stephens, 52, of Washington, died on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland, after a brief illness.
She was born on August 8, 1957, in Washington, a daughter of Naoe (Eileen) Kenako White Hartzog, of Washington and the late William Newton White.
Nancy was a 1975 graduate of Trinity High School.
Most recently, she was employed at the Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Center. She had also worked for Dr. Cynthia Schuler for several years.
Mrs. Stephens was active as a Washington High School band parent for many years. She served as the Treasurer for the Washington High School Steel Drum Band, volunteered as a cheerleading advisor for the West Washington Colts for several years, and was a Deacon at the Third United Presbyterian Church in Wolfdale.
She enjoyed her children and vacationing at the beach, as well as bowling at the Route 19 Bowling Alley.
On September 5, 1987, she married Scot “Took” Stephens, who survives.
Also surviving, in addition to her mother, are her children Melissa Stephens and Casey Stephens; 2 brothers, Bob (Carol) White, of Washington and Frank “Fu” White, of Florida, 2 sisters, Alice (Roy) Harris, of Florida and Laura (Albert) Stuhlmueller, of Florida; 2 nieces, Erin Harris and Annie Stephens; 6 nephews, William, Chris, Justin and Daniel White, Zach Stephens and Matthew Watson; and 2 great-nieces, Kourtney and Myranda.
Deceased, in addition to her father, is a brother, William “Butchie” White; and grandparents, Isaac Newton and Alice May Armstrong White, and Frank and Teiko Kaneko.
Friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
