Elizabeth Caroline Sprowls

Elizabeth Caroline Sprowls, 87, of Tignall, Georgia, formerly of Washington, died on Thursday, September 23, 2010, in Georgia. She was born on March 2, 1923, in South Franklin Township, Washington, PA., a daughter of Fredrick Franklin and Cassandra Elizabeth Grandon Chase. Mrs. Sprowls was a homemaker and a member of the Roadside Chapel, in Pleasant Grove, PA. She adored her family, and was an avid quilter, who loved working with her flowers. On October 4, 1941, she married Cecil Boyd Sprowls, who died on June 13, 1994. Surviving are 6 sons, Cecil Edward Sprowls, of Powhaton, VA; Clayton Russell Sprowls and Arthur Edwin Sprowls, both of Washington, PA; Dale Lee Sprowls, of Augusta, GA; David Wray Sprowls, of West Alexander, PA and Darrell Wade Sprowls, of Dallas, WV; a daughter, Darlene Canterbury, of Tignall, GA; 2 sisters, Mary Sprowls and Alma Dunkle, both of Pleasant Grove; 44 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Deceased are 5 brothers, Harry, William R., Ellis F., Charles and Frank Chase. Friends will be received on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, at the Roadside Chapel, Pleasant Grove, where services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Mary J.
