Edward David “Tow Motor” Miller, 82, of Washington, died Friday, September 3, 2010, in Donnell House. He had been in declining health.
He was born September 1, 1928, in Hopewell Township, a son of Edward George Miller and Sarah Viola Craig Miller.
Mr. Miller served in the United States Army from February 12, 1952, until his honorable discharge on January 28, 1954. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with one bronze service star, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Miller was a forklift operator for MolyCorp, retiring after 23 years of service.
He was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and Coon Hunters Club. Mr. Miller’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching television.
He was Protestant.
Surviving are a son, John David (Lois) Miller of Washington; two daughters, Teresa (Tony) Mirisciotta and Brenda (Robert) Megyesy, both of Washington; two step-children, Edward D. Shriver of Anderson, Indiana and Bonnie L. McKown of Finleyville; a brother, Cecil D. Miller of Washington; a sister, Nellie Ashmore of Washington; five grandchildren, Jamie Wetzel, James Wetzel, Samantha Clark, Merranda Miller and Georgia Miller; several step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild, Addison Miklic.
Deceased are four brothers, George, Gaylord “Bud,” Carl, and Herbert; three sisters, Anna Mary Hunter, Mabel Brookman and Lucille Tiano; and a grandson, Adam W. Clark.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
