Margaret Spangler Mosier, 99 ½, of Washington, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, in the Washington Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born March 23, 1910, in Brest Osada, Czechoslovakia, a daughter of Michael and Anna Gersna Hustava.
Mrs. Mosier attended Manifold Schools.
She had worked at Hazel Atlas as a selector-packer and at RCA as a tester.
Mrs. Mosier previously attended St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church and most recently attended Holy Trinity National Catholic Church.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. Elected to Washington’s Bowling Hall of Fame, she previously had bowled in the Monday Night Pin Buster League and in the Senior Citizen’s Wednesday League at Route 19 Bowl.
Her first husband, Edward R. Spangler, died in 1973; her second husband, Donald Walker, died in 1988; and her third husband, Joseph Mosier Jr., died in 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Dolores A. (James) Hugus and Mary L. (David) Neil, both of Washington; several stepchildren; five grandchildren, James H. Hugus, Jr., Michele L. Hugus, Robert W. Hugus, Edward A. Neil and Eric M. Neil; several step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild, Lilly T. Hugus; and several step-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Edward Spangler, Jr.; two brothers, Charles Gersna and John Hustava; a sister, Sophia Tokar; and a stepson.
Friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 5th, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
