Mary Jane Bieda, 77, of Washington, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, after a 1-year illness.
She was born on December 24, 1932, in Cecil Township, a daughter of Donald and Pauline Speck Crothers.
Mrs. Bieda worked in the food service department at Trinity Middle School for 10 years, and was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Bieda enjoyed cooking for her family and taking care of others.
On June 6, 1953, she married Mike Bieda, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Michael L. (Cindy) Bieda, of Peters Township and Donald M. (Buffie) Bieda, of Newtown, PA; a daughter, Paula K. (Bill) Britt, of Washington; a brother, Richard Crothers, of Strabane, PA; and 7 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Michaela, Brooke and Lindsey Bieda, and Tiffany, Mikelyn and Paul Britt.
Deceased are a son, Bruce S. Bieda; 3 brothers, Harry, William and James Crothers, and 2 sisters, Betty Smalley and Pearl Crothers.
Services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, with Rev. John Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
