Marjorie Grace Murphy, 87, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born August 6, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of William and Bertha Meanor McDaid, and was raised by her sister, Ida McDonald Scott. She was the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Murphy was an aid and EKG technician at the Washington Hospital for 14 years.
She enjoyed crocheting, hooking rugs, gardening, growing African Violets, solving word search puzzles and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Joanne Kuty (Ken Brewer) of Okeechobee, Florida, and Roberta (Al) Jackson of Amity; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Murphy of Washington; six grandchildren, Tonia (Bill) Campbell of Flat Rock, Michigan, Gina (Dan) Flack of Flat Rock, Michigan, Thomas (Becky) Bristor of Amity, Heath Kuty of Brownsville and George and Michael Kover; 14 great-grandchildren, William Campbell, Eric Campbell, Hannah Ham, Abby Jo Bristor, Amber Crawford, Brandon Crawford, Madison, Brady, Grace, Megan, Tina, Kim, Kelly, and Genna; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her former husband, Donald I. Murphy; a son, Donald E. Murphy, a grandson, Arthur Paul Bristor, Jr., five brothers, Albert, Alvin, Eugene, Leroy, and Joseph McDaid; and three sisters, Blanche Amos, Wilma Johnson and Ida McDonald Scott.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Noon to 4 p.m., the hour of service, Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Rev. Dr. Susan VandeKappelle officiating. Private burial will be held in Washington Cemetery.
