Patricia Louise Glendenning, 66, of Washington, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 7, 2010. She had been ill since April 2008.
She was born July 30, 1943, in Washington, a daughter of Fred W. and Nellie M. Tennant Eakin.
Mrs. Glendenning formerly worked for 11 years at Hill’s Department store as the assistant shoe department manager. In her younger years she worked at Marshall’s Luncheonette and also at Murphy’s on Main Street.
Mrs. Glendenning was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, and Washington County Democratic Women. She attended Vella School of Dance and dance competitions.
On February 17, 1961, she married James A. Glendenning, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Donald J. (Charl) Glendenning of Graysville, Michael L. (Jaime) Glendenning of Washington and James C. (Kathy) Glendenning of Delaware, Ohio; a daughter, Michelle Renee (Richard) Gontas of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Glade Eakin and Fred Eakin, Jr.; and a grandchild, Leah Glendenning.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11th, with Pastor Bob Turrill and Pastor Michael Roach co-officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
