Richard Jordan "R.J." Oblak, 14, of Washington, died on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born on October 5, 1995, in Upper St. Clair, a son of Richard Gerard and Laurie Kirchmyer Oblak. R.J. was a student at John F. Kennedy Catholic School, the parish school of Immaculate Conception Church, in Washington. Richard was a CORE organ donor. Richard was a member of the Columbian Squires at Ave Maria Church in Ellsworth, PA. He played football, lifted weights and was in to bodybuilding. He enjoyed quad and BMX riding, air soft guns, video games, music, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins, and spending time with his friends. Surviving, in addition to his parents are his paternal grandparents, Richard and Rebecca Oblak, a brother, Sean Richard Walters, and his fiance, Amy Casciola; aunts and uncles, Douglas and Lori Wade, Denise Crivaro, Kim Kirchmyer and Chara Windsheldon; and cousins, Crystal Limberg, Taylor Kirchmyer, and Ryan, Cory and Tommy Wade. Deceased are his maternal grandparents, Richard and Amy Kirchmyer. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father William Feeney as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Please note that there will be no services or visitation on Friday at the funeral home. Everyone should meet at the Immaculate Conception Church for the Mass. Family will be establishing a Memorial Trust in Richard's name at a later date.
