Shirley Mae Kaufmann Harter

Shirley Mae Kaufmann Harter, 73, of Washington, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, in Washington Hospital. She was born May 1, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of George L. and Frances Jones Harter. Mrs. Harter was a graduate of Trinity High School and was a selector/packer at Brockway Glass for forty-three years. She was a member of the Duncan-Miller Club and enjoyed antiques. Mrs. Harter was Protestant by faith. Surviving are her former husband, Charles W. Kaufmann; a son, Charles W. Kaufmann, III; a brother, Johnny Harter; a granddaughter, Sarah Kritniak; several nieces and nephews, including a niece, Lois Jean Harter, of Claysville. Deceased is a brother, George Harter. Friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
