Frederick James Schneider, 62, of Washington, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born September 22, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late Donald and Ann Morris Schneider.
Mr. Schneider was a Senior Purchasing Agent at Ferro Corporation, where he worked for 33 years.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Western Pennsylvania Archaeological Society and Washington County Historical Society, where he had served as president, and Friends of Colonial Williamsburg. He also was a volunteer at the LeMoyne House. Mr. Schneider was involved with the Brigade of the American Revolution, a group that recreates the life and times of the common soldier during the American War for Independence. During re-enactments, he represented a surgeon in the 8th Pennsylvania Regiment.
In addition to American history, Mr. Schneider loved music.
On April 12, 1969, he married Kathleen Sommer, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Heather (Patrick) Maloney of Bethel Park, and a brother, Daniel “Pudge” Schneider of Washington.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Friday in Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington. Additional visitation will be held in the church from11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the hour of service, Saturday, March 6th, with Rev. Karen Stevenson officiating.
