James L. Forsythe

James L. Forsythe, 93, of Washington, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, in the Washington Hospital. He was born June 17, 1916, in Washington, a son of William and Ester Forsythe. Mr. Forsythe was a route salesman for 26 years for Cameron Coca-Cola, retiring in 1974. He served with the United States Army Air Force, spending 24 months in India, and was honorably discharged in October 1945. Mr. Forsythe was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Washington, Ionic Lodge 438 F&AM of Bellaire, Ohio, for over 70 years, Royal Arch Chapter of Washington for over 65 years, and Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club. He was an avid pistol shooter and enjoyed playing cards, reading, attending Washington Senior Citizens Center and going out to eat with friends. On February 3, 1945, he married Lois M. Jolley, who died July 27, 2000. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Louise Forsythe of Washington; two nephews, Malcolm and John; and two nieces, Stephanie and Marilyn. Deceased are two brothers, Malcolm and Robert Forsythe. Friends will be received 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, March 17th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Pastor Robert Vankirk officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
