Lois Irene Patterson Carl, 79, of Washington, died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Washington Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was born September 19, 1930, in Beallsville, PA, a daughter of Lloyd Taylor and Rheba “R. Pearle” Doty Patterson. Mrs. Carl had worked as an aide at the Mayview State Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of Grove United Presbyterian Church. Lois was a member of the AFSCME Union. She enjoyed travelling, family gatherings and her grandchildren. On April 22, 1950, she married Henry “Harry” Lyle Carl, who died on February 16, 1976. Surviving are a son, Robert L. (Michele) Carl, of Washington; a daughter, Kathy L. (Ray Miller) Schubenski, of Avella, PA; a brother, Harold L. Patterson, of Wellsburg, WV; 2 sisters, Rheba Flowers, of West Middletown, PA and Linda Birney, of Richmond, OH; 5 grandchildren, Kenneth, Timothy, Chad and Chelsey Carl and Ryan Schubenski; and a great grandchild, Cole. Deceased are a brother, Raymond L. Patterson; a sister, Ruth Patterson; a son, Kenneth J. Carl and a son-in-law, William E. Schubenski. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA. Services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., in The Grove United Presbyterian Church; 125 E. Main Street, West Middletown, PA, with Rev. Jack E. Emerick officiating. Burial will follow in West Middletown Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society; 331 S.
