Merridy Beck Leppert 77, of Washington, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, in the Golden Living Center - South Hills.
She was born on October 1, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of the late Arlington S. Beck and Margaret Schmidt, of Washington.
Mrs. Leppert was a member of the First Lutheran Church in which she had been very active. She had worked in the custodial department at the church for more than 30 years.
She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School.
Mrs. Leppert enjoyed gardening, classical music, sewing, travelling and especially talking about her grandchildren.
She was a survivor of the 1944 Camp Buffalo tornado.
On November 8, 1952, she married Theodore Leppert, who died on October 1, 2007.
Surviving are 2 sons, Max T. (Dianne) Leppert, of Claysville, and Mark A. (Michele) Leppert, of Washington; 2 daughters, Beckie J. (Charles) Wood and Lisa A. (Richard) Hager, both of Washington; 3 sisters, Arlene (Robert) Rihs, of California; Linda (Andrew) Sonson, of Washington and Karen (John) Legler, of Washington; 5 grandchildren, Max and Derek Leppert, Charles Wood, Erin Misner and Heidi Porter and 7 great grandchildren, Nathan and Nick Tustin; Max Wyatt, Skye Leppert, Sophia Misner, Alexis Leppert and Piper Leppert.
Deceased is a grandson, Erik Leppert.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, from, 12 to 1 p.m., the time of services, at the First Lutheran Church, 92 West Walnut Street, Washington, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Schott officiating.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
