Marguerite Verrone Palermo, 83, of Washington, died Sunday, May 3, 2009,in the Washington Hospital.
She was born June 7, 1925, a daughter of John and Rose Palamone Verrone.
Mrs. Palermo was a high school graduate and attended Duff's Iron City Business Institute for 2 years.
She worked at McGraw-Edison as an executive secretary for 18 years. Prior to working at McGraw-Edison, she worked at Washington and Jefferson College as secretary to the dean of development.
Mrs. Palermo enjoyed playing bridge and knitting.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
On August 6, 1947, she married Frank Joseph Palermo, Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John (JoAnn) Palermo of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Frank (Amy) Palermo, Jr., of Upper St Clair; two sisters, Sylvia (Frank) Andy of Washington and Jean (Joe) Mascetta of Canonsburg; and six grandchildren, Emily Knier, Katie, Frank, Anne and John Palermo and Annie Chamberlin.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, with Father Nicholas Spirko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
