Zoe Lorraine Knox

Washington homemaker enjoyed reading. Zoe Lorraine Knox, 73, of Washington, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Humbert Lane Personal Care Home, South Strabane Township. She was born November 30, 1935, in Washington, a daughter of Albert and Wanda Robertson Kern. Mrs. Knox was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School and former member of First Christian Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading. On August 20, 1955, she married William Charles Knox, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, William (Sherri) Knox of Pittsburgh's South Hills, David (Darlene) Knox of Huntsville, Ala., Stephen (Becky) Knox of Marianna and Jeffrey (Robin) Knox of Haddon Field, N.J.; a brother, Gary (Pam) Kern of Mt. Joy; 13 grandchildren, William and Robert Knox, Marc and Patrick Knox, Michael, Jacob and Jennifer Knox, Thomas and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Knox, Kathryn Knox, Beth Ann Barakat, Lisa McCaslin and Kristie Knox; and several stepgrandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Sherri Knox, and a son, Douglas Knox. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
