Leo Charles “Punk” Allen, 80, of Washington, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in Kindred Hospital, Oakdale. He was born October 28, 1929, in Washington, a son of Charles Frederick and Gertrude Crawford Allen. Mr. Allen was a millwright for 40 years at Bowman Metal Decking. He enjoyed mechanical work and restoring cars. Mr. Allen was Protestant. In 1949, he married Mildred Moore, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Johnnie (Eleanor) Allen and Dennis (Sandy) Allen; a daughter, Cindy “Cricket” (David) Lemley, all of Washington; two sisters, Helen Marie Moore of Pioneertown, California, and Edie Miller of Big Bear, California; five grandchildren, Johnnie Allen, Jr., Casey and Cody Lemley, Kim Fox and Joie Durbin; and six great-grandchildren. Deceased is a grandson, Brian Mitchell. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 14th, with Rev. Donald C. Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
