Frank Cossu, 86, of Claysville, died Monday, January 25, 2010, in Evergreen Assisted Living, following a one-year illness.
He was born April 27, 1923, in Washington, a son of Anthony and Louise Caternia Cossu.
Mr. Cossu worked as a truck driver at Union Camp for 45 years and was a member of the Teamsters.
He loved his beagle dogs and enjoyed all animals, hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Cossu was Catholic by faith.
On February 14, 1940, he married Elsie Louise Willhoft, who died March 17, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Frank (Diane) Cossu, Jr., of Southpointe; two daughters, Mary Ann Cossu of Canonsburg and Betty Richardson of Washington; two brothers, John “Sam” Cossu of Cleveland, Ohio, and Peter Cossu of Washington; a sister, Mary Sargent of Washington; four grandchildren, Tamera Brickl, Michael Richardson, Jason Cossu and Caitlyn Cossu; and three great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Jason Cossu and Aaron Brickl.
Deceased is a daughter, Linda Lee Cossu.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 27th, in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery.
