Jennie Lucille Phillips, 87, of Washington, died Monday, December 28, 2009, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born September 22, 1922, in Banetown, a daughter of Timothy and Victoria Breese Bennett. Mrs. Phillips was a 1942 graduate of Trinity High School and worked in the cafeteria of Trinity Middle School. She was a member of First Baptist Church and an active member of Parkinson’s Support Group at Washington Hospital. Mrs. Phillips was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed sewing. On August 10, 1942, she married William Phillips, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are a son, William T. (Patsy) Phillips; a daughter, Bonnie (Tom) Wheeler; three sisters, Ruth Glover, Nelle Watson and Donna Bryner, all of Washington; three grandchildren, Cindy Bonus, Erica Wheeler and Pamela Phillips; and four great-grandchildren, Sammy Maloy, Constance Maloy, Liam Wheeler and Isabella Bonus. Deceased are a brother, William Bennett; and two sisters, Luella Jones and Evelyn McKahan. Friends will be received Noon to 2 p.m., the hour of service, Thursday, December 31st, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 6507 Wilkins Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15217-1366.
