William Andrew Leonard, 54, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Friday, May 8, 2009, in Washington Hospital.
He was born November 7, 1954, in Washington, a son of the late Alfred M., Sr. and Thelma L. Colvin Leonard.
He was a graduate of West Allegheny High School.
Mr. Leonard was a former steel worker at Shenango, Inc., Neville Island, where he worked for twenty years.
Mr. Leonard was the present commander of Sons of the Legion, Edwin Scott Linton, Post 175, and involved in all activities related to that position. He was also a member of the Arms Club.
He enjoyed sports and watching golf and football on television.
Surviving are a daughter, Robin Michelle Nestor; a brother, Alfred M. (Ruth Ann) Leonard, Jr., both of Washington; a sister, Becky (Jim) Forsythe, of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Shelby Nichole Nestor and Jordan Christopher “Boogs” Nestor; two nephews, Joey (Beth) Oravitz, and Shawn (Jamie) Leonard, Sr.; three nieces, Paula (Paul) Howard, Tammy (Mark) Post, and Pam (Andy) Philyaw; and also several great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 E. Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009, with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
