Darrel James Pratt

Local nursing assistant enjoyed CB radios. Darrel James Pratt, 53, of Washington, died unexpectedly Monday, December 28, 2009. He was born May 31, 1956, in Washington, a son of Rose Marie Ranegar Pratt of Washington and the late Eugene Pratt. Mr. Pratt was a certified nursing assistant in several nursing homes in Florida and had worked in a nursing home in the Washington area. He enjoyed CB Radios. Mr. Pratt was Protestant. On February 7, 1997, he married Donna Piszczek, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael L. Pratt of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Jennifer R. Pratt of Washington and Lisa M. Pratt of Columbus, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Robin M. Nestor of Washington; five brothers, Steve Pratt, John Pratt, Dwayne Pratt, Herbert Pratt and William Pratt, all of Washington; two sisters, Norma Bennett of Washington and Donna Blair of Whitehall; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Allan Pratt, is deceased. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
