Rose Syrek

Rose Paranos Syrek, 89, of Washington, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, in Kade Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 24, 1920, in Meadowlands, a daughter of Nick and Catherine Andredas Paranos. Mrs. Syrek was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Hazel Atlas. Glass Factory. Her husband, Stanley A. Syrek, died July 12, 1984. Surviving are a daughter, Iris May Gilbert and her husband, Lawrence, of Virginia; a son, Adam Syrek of Virginia; and a grandchild, Nathanael Lawrence Gilbert. Deceased are a daughter, Sylvia Syrek August; two brothers, Edward Gavolier and John Paranos; and three sisters, Irene Furmanek, Mary Gavolier and Ann Spencer. Friends will be received 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 4th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes. Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 2:45 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas O’Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
