Eliza Ethel Sonson, 73, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, in her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 9, 1936, in Amwell Township, a daughter of Clarence and Leota Pierson Thomas.
Mrs. Sonson attended Trinity schools. For 25 years, she worked for Weber National Store as a trophy builder.
She enjoyed being with her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking, and creating unique trophies.
Mrs. Sonson was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
On September 17, 1955, she married Michael S. Sonson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary Alan (Kathy) Sonson of Hickory, North Carolina; a daughter, Caroline (Tracey) Mitchell of Washington; six grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Michael J., Amanda, John and Arianna; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Michael J. Sonson; a grandson, Brandon Hoy; two brothers, Joe Thomas and Marvell L. Thomas; and a sister, Arlene Raneger.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, January 8th, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
