William Alfred “Al” Baker, 83, of Claysville, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, in his residence.
He was born October 2, 1926, in Washington, a son of George F. and Nora McNutt Baker.
Mr. Baker was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was a self-employed logger and excavator and enjoyed building and refining and machinery.
Mr. Baker was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church in Washington and a 50-year member of Sunset Lodge 623.
In 1948, he married Alyce Robertson, who died in 1965.
In 1980, he married Lilian Helay, who died in 2000.
On October 25, 2005, he married Margaret Landrey Redd, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph (Libby) Baker of Mesa, Arizona, and John (Shirley) Baker of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two infant children.
Friends will be received Noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 22nd, with Rev. John Hoffman officiating.
