Fern Elizabeth Melvin-Guyaux, 66, of Washington, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 18, 2010, while in the presence of her two daughters, in Southmont of Presbyterian Care, following a five-month illness.
She was born May 26, 1943, in Terra Alta, West Virginia, a daughter of Lewis Phillip and Anna Virginia Hartman Emery.
Mrs. Melvin-Guyaux was Christian by faith, and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, was a member of Edwin Linton Scott Post 175 of the American Legion Auxiliary and Gold Star Wives.
On April 30, 1960, she married Alfred D. Melvin, Jr., who died January 8, 1974.
Surviving are her 2nd husband of four years, Raymond N. Guyaux; two daughters, Sharon A. Jungo, of Washington, and Donal L. (Duncan) MacPhail, of Ft. Stewart, Georgia; a sister, Wilma Caster, of Meadowlands; four grandchildren, Jason L. (Donna) Miklic, Sr., Kent J. Jungo, Andrew T. Jungo, and Jynessa L. MacPhail; and a great grandson, Jason Miklic, Jr.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
