Duane Clark Armstrong, 68, of Buffalo Township, died Monday, February 1, 2009, in his residence.
He was born March 12, 1941, in Washington, a son of Clarence W. and Dorothy Mustard Armstrong.
Mr. Armstrong was a 1959 graduate of Trinity High School. He worked as a laborer at Washington Steel and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf and horseshoes.
Mr. Armstrong served in the Army for one year and in the Air Force for eight years. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Longevity Service Award.
Mr. Armstrong was a member of Moose Lodge 22, VFW 927, Taylorstown American Legion, Slovak Club, Pulaski Club, Alpine Club and Jessop Club.
He was Protestant.
On June 22, 2006, he married Zelma G. Elliott, who survives.
Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Cynthia Phillips of Washington; a brother, Garry W. (Ellen) Armstrong of West Middletown; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his first wife, Leora Armstrong, who died April 8, 2005; a son, Dale Armstrong; and a sister. Suzann Johnson.
Friends will be received 1 to 6 p.m., the hour of service, Thursday, February 4th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
