Arvella Helen Homes

Arvella Helen Holmes, 73, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, in Washington County Health Center. She was born April 12, 1936, in Lincoln Hill, a daughter of Paul Jusko, Sr., and Inez Mary McCown Jusko. Mrs. Holmes worked as an RSA-aid at Western Center for 27 years. She was an avid lottery player, enjoyed playing bingo, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. On December 1, 1979, she married Grover Lee Holmes, who died February 22, 2009. Surviving are two sons, Roger (Debbie) Calvert of Vero Beach, Florida, and Robert (Anita) Calvert, Jr., of Claysville; a sister, Mary Blanche Jusko Gura of Washington; two grandchildren, Amy and Robert Calvert; and a great-grandchild, Bryanna Goodwin. Deceased is a brother, Paul Jusko, Jr. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2010, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
