Rev. Wanda June Varner, 71, of Washington, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
She was born December 2, 1938, in Eighty-Four, a daughter of the late Ross and Myrtle Christopher.
Mrs. Varner was a 1955 graduate of Trinity High School.
She was the pastor of the Apostolic Gospel Church of Washington.
Mrs. Varner loved to preach the word of God and spend time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She also enjoyed traveling and building puzzles.
On December 15, 1956, she married John L. Varner, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Roger Ray (Lisa) Adams of Clarksville; a daughter, Sheila Mae Hutter of Washington; nine grandchildren, C.J. Adams of Virginia, Angela M. Wise of Washington, Jessica (Shawn) Megginson of Washington, Amanda (Shane) Alton of Charleroi, Nathan (Sarah) Wise of Washington, April (Jonathan) Snyder of Charleroi, Alison Adams of Clarksville, Corey Adams of Indiana, and Justin Adams of Indiana; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry D. (Jan) Christopher of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Harold (Maxine) Christopher of Washington; two sisters, Mary (Norman) Dubro of Utah and Lois Bercosky of Marianna; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Irene Ross of Lone Pine.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a sister, Evelyn J. Christopher; a brother, Floyd Christopher; and a son, Casey Adams.
Friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6th, with Rev. A.C. Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Horn Cemetery.
