Phyllis June “Tuffy” Hayden, 66, of Washington, died Thursday, November 26, 2009, in her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 11, 1943, in Washington, a daughter of Harold “Jack” and Ruth Ann Fender Hayden.
Mrs. Hayden was a graduate of Trinity High School and was Protestant by faith.
She was owner of Jack’s State Line Inn.
Mrs. Hayden enjoyed caring for dogs and cats, cooking, and helping other people.
Surviving are three sons, Earl “E.G.” Gorby, of Avella, Ronald White, of Arizona, and Joseph Gorby, of Washington; two daughters, Dora Bell and Sandra Gorby, both of Illinois; a brother, Samuel Hayden, of Oregon; four sisters, Evelyn Panjuscsek, of Avella, Louise Main, Betty Yeager, and Nancy Kisner, all of Washington; a former husband, Earl Gorby; 18 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Mary Jo Ann Hayden and a former husband, Ronald White.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2009. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
