Trinity High School senior was art honoree. Benjamin Gage Martin, 18, of Washington, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 16, 2006, in his residence. He was born November 4, 1987, in Pittsburgh, a son of Glenn Martin III of Washington and Lori Ann Engle Martin of Washington. Mr. Martin was a senior at Trinity High School and a member of the National Honor Society, Journalism Club and Key Club. He had participated in Trinity High School band during his freshman and sophomore years. He was a Gold Key Award winner in art at Waynesburg College, enjoyed playing the piano and was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students. He was planning on pursuing visual arts in college. Mr. Martin worked during the summer at Lowe's in the gardening department. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Washington. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are maternal grandparents, William R. and Patricia Engle of Washington and Florida; paternal grandmother, Sally S. Martin of Washington; aunts and uncles, Darcy and Paul Bickerton of Washington and Kathy and Perry Arlia of Washington; and cousins, Amy, Clark and Tim Bickerton and Sheena and Ashley Arlia. His paternal grandfather, Glenn Martin II, is deceased. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, in First Lutheran Church, corner of Walnut and North Franklin Streets, Washington, with the Rev. Kenneth N. Schott officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Citizens Library for books in art, architecture or gardening, 55 South College Street, Washington, PA 15301.
