Charles Leroy Williams, 62, of Eighty-Four, died Monday, November 16, 2009, in the Washington Hospital, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
He was born August 22, 1947, in Amity.
Mr. Williams attended Washington schools. He was a carpenter and owner/operator of Chuck’s Home and Mobile Makeover for eight years.
Mr. Williams was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, enjoyed being with his family, and was an avid Steelers and NASCAR fan.
Mr. Williams was a member of Glenn Street Free Methodist Church, Washington.
His wife, Trudy Ann Phillips Williams, survives. They were first married on February 14, 1982, and then re-married on March 21, 1998.
Surviving are a son, William M. (Kelly) Newman of Washington; a step-daughter, Paula (John) Scarfo of Eighty-Four; two daughters, Janey West of Washington and Jessica Wildman of Waynesburg; two brothers, Robert Williams and Willie Williams, both of Washington; a sister, Audrey Haught of Washington; grandchildren, Shane and Cory Newman, Paige and Nick Scarfo, Adam and Joe West, Sierra Minor, and several others; a step-granddaughter, Shantel Staley; and a step-grandson, Zachary Staley; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Peck Williams; and a sister, Jenny.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19th, in Glenn Street Free Methodist Church, with Rev. Bob Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
