Pearl K. “Peggy” Crothers, 81, of Washington, died Monday, November 16, 2009, in Humbert Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 3, 1928, in Midway, a daughter of the late William David and Pauline Speach Crothers.
Ms. Crothers lived most of her life in Washington. For 25 years she worked at Washington and Jefferson College, where she was the administrator of the dining room. She had also worked at Stack’s Cafeteria and Herd’s Drug Store.
Ms. Crothers was a 50-year member of First United Presbyterian Church and most recently attended Friendship Community Church.
Surviving are two brothers, William Crothers of Southview and Richard Lee Crothers of Strabane; one sister, Mary Jane Crothers Bieda of Washington; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Harry, James and Robert Crothers; and a sister, Betty Smally.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, November 19th, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Community Church, 354 Weirich Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
