Michael Kongelka, Jr., 93, of Washington, died Thursday, January 28, 2010.
He was born November 21, 1916, in Rich Hill, a son of Michael Kongelka, Sr., and Susanna Yanchik Kongelka.
Mr. Kongelka was a 1937 graduate of Washington High School. He was the business manager and original owner of Washington Harley- Davidson and the manager of Lightholder Construction for many years.
Mr. Kongelka was a trustee of St. Michael Byzantine Church in Canonsburg for 50 years and a life member of the BPOE.
On August 30, 1940, he married Anne Uram, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert Michael (Anita) Kongelka, Sr. of Washington; two daughters, Carol Ann Meisner of Washington and Marilyn Patricia (William) Appleby of Greensburg; a sister, Mary Kongelka Hunsinger of Glenshaw; five grandchildren, Robert Michael Kongelka, Jr., Mary M. (Micah) Naeser, Christopher John Kongelka, Robert Meisner and Stephen Meisner; and a great-granddaughter, Madeleine Claire Naeser.
Deceased are a brother, John Kongelka; and two sisters, Anna Kongelka Buchko and Susan K. Taksa.
Friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 2nd in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 166 East College Street, Canonsburg, with Father Joseph Jugan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
