Clara B. Anthony, 87, of Washington, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She had been ill since April 17.
She was born December 2, 1918, in Banetown, a daughter of Frank Hill and Myrtle Amos Bainer.
Mrs. Anthony graduated from Washington High School in 1937 and was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed her family.
She worked in sales for Lou Gessner, was a receptionist for Drs. Webb and Morton for 15 years, sold tickets at Washington and Basle Theaters, and was a self-employed reflexologist since 1975.
On May 21, 1938, she married John William Anthony, who died April 20, 2006.
Surviving are a son, John William Anthony II (Gloria) of Washington; a daughter, Carolyn A. Kraushaar (John H.) of Washington; a sister, Mary Bochek of Washington; a granddaughter, Jennifer Bernett; and a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Elizabeth Bernett.
Friends and family will be received from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held for Mrs. Anthony and her husband, John William Anthony, at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, with the Rev. Larry Wiltrout officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
