Hazel Irene Thomas, 93, of Washington, formerly Eldersville, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Washington.
She was born September 7, 1916, in Bristoria, a daughter of Peter Bradley and Mary Alice Pelkey Rhome.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of Langeloth Church of Christ and enjoyed being a homemaker.
On May 23, 1947, she married Wilbur Theodore Thomas, who died December 5, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Darrel (Pauline) Thomas, of Avella, a brother, Albert M. (Dale) Rhome, of Wind Ridge; two sisters, Helena P. Galentine, of Aleppo, and Betty Whipkey, of Cameron, WV; six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Franklin I. Cumpston, a stepson, Charles Wayne Thomas; a brother, William Leslie Rhome; four sisters, Georgia Ann McQuay, Wilnetta Aston, Mary Geneva Preston, and Flossie Schrack.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, with John Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Langeloth Church of Christ, 1370 Langeloth Road, Langeloth, PA 15054.
