Elsie M. Kovachik

Elsie Mary Kovachik, 80, of Livonia, Michigan, formerly Washington, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, in her residence. She was born March 21, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of Andrew and Anna Kolariak Fedis. Mrs. Kovachik was retired from a national motel chain where she had worked as a housekeeper for many years. She enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with her great-grandson. Her husband, Joseph Kovachik, Jr., died August 9, 1992. Surviving are two sons, Richard (Darla) Kovachik of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Brian Kovachik of Livonia, Michigan; a daughter, Donna Kovachik of Livonia; a brother, Augustine Fedis of Washington; two granddaughters, Melissa Kovachik and Jennifer Kovachik; and a great-grandson, Jaden. Deceased are two brothers, Frank and Anthony Fedis; and six sisters, Beatrice Florik, Josephine Skoylak, Anna Belcastro, Christine Zink, Lucy Cox and Mildred Ingersoll. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 1:30 till 2:30pm Monday, April 20th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, immediately followed by a graveside memorial service in the Washington Cemetery.
