Robert E. Cox, 74, of Midway, died Thursday, December 3, 2009, in his residence. He had been ill since September.
He was born July 14, 1935, in Hopewell Township, a son of Harry R. and Ida Mounts Cox.
Mr. Cox was a dairy and beef cattle farmer for over thirty years.
He was Protestant by faith.
On August 3, 1961, he married Bertha Clark, who died October 16, 2008.
Surviving are a daughter, Helen “Noreen” Acheson (Charles Kietz), of Midway, a step daughter, Donna Lusher, of Nebraska; three sisters, Eva Whitfield and Frances Whitfield, both of Houston, and Helen Bird, of Claysville; a grandson, Scott Alan Acheson, and three step grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Nina Cox, who died October 16, 2008; a sister, Lila Solinger, and a brother, Marion Cox.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009, in Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will follow in Upper Buffalo Cemetery.
