Mary Rosalie Rowbotham Williams

Mary Rosalie Rowbotham Williams, 86, of Hickory, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Washington Hospital. She was born on April 7, 1923, in Rochester, Missouri, a daughter of George A. and Ollie Wells Rowbotham. She attended High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. On July 10, 1950, she married Roy Clifford Williams, who survives, and has been her soul mate these last 58 years. In 1951, after moving to Hickory, she worked with her husband in their business, Cliff’s Radio & TV until retiring in 1984. She had spent the last twenty-four winters in Florida and enjoyed being in the sun, playing Canasta with her friends, and was known to them as “ The Samba Queen “. Mrs. Williams was a long time member of the Hickory United Presbyterian Church and had served as an Assistant Sunday School Teacher at the church. Surviving in addition to her husband are tow sons, Kenneth L. ( Mary Emery ), and John Williams as well as two grandsons, Taylor and Jeremiah Williams. At the request of the deceased, no public visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held at the Hickory United Presbyterian Church on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue.
