David L. Buchanan

David Lee Buchanan, 70, of Washington, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, in the Washington County Health Center, following a two-month illness. He was born May 18, 1938, in Washington, a son of Everett and Elizabeth Viteck Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from July 7, 1954, until his honorable discharge on July 19, 1960. He worked for 30 years at Molycorp and was a long-time member of the VFW and the Moose. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Buchanan was Catholic by faith. In 1964, he married Beverly June Calvert, who died March 4, 2006. Surviving are a son, Jason (Jennie) Buchanan of Washington; six sisters, Mary Alice Marchetti of Williamston, Michigan; Geraldine Riley of Pymatuning*; Dorothy Frabel and Laura Molinaro, both of Washington; Jeanie Neil of Scenery Hill, and Ann Hayes of Washington; and two grandchildren, Alycia Marie Buchanan and Anthony Michael Buchanan. Deceased are a brother, Richard Buchanan, and a sister, Margaret Kiers. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, April 30th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
