Virginia Edwards

Virginia “Aunt Ginny” Edwards, 88, of McMurray, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in McMurray Hills Manor, following a lengthy illness. She was born October 30, 1921, in Waynesburg, a daughter of Forney J. and Violet Boyd Huffman. For 40 years, she worked as a nurse at the University of Virginia. She enjoyed reading, sewing and needlepoint as well as spending time with Alan and Chalese, whom she considered to be her grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards was Methodist. On August 9, 1947, she married John Edwards, who died in 1975. Surviving are three brothers, Richard Huffman of Finleyville, Warren Daniel Huffman of Georgia, and Forney Leroy Huffman of Washington; two sisters, Betty (Thomas) DeJohn of Canonsburg and JoAnn (Fred) Reihner of Washington. Deceased are five brothers, Theodore, Lawrence, Frederick, Kenneth and Robert. There will be no visitation or services. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., is in charge of arrangements.
