Robert Leroy Atchison

January 13, 1929 — February 2, 2006

Worked as electrician, window cleaner and security guard. Robert LeRoy Atchison, 77, of Eighty Four, formerly of Washington, died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006, in Donnell House, following a lingering illness. He was born January 13, 1929, in Avella, a son of Frank and Hazel Emery Atchison. He attended Westland School. Mr. Atchison was an electrician for 39 years at McGraw-Edison. He also had worked as a window cleaner for Pete Cossu for 25 years and as a security guard for Tarbuck Security. Mr. Atchison served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW 2026 and Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175. On June 19, 1953, he married Velma Virginia Margaret Bowman, who died December 22, 2005. Surviving are two sons, Terry Lee (Shelly) Atchison of West Alexander and Robert Franklin (Nancy) Atchison of California, Pa.; three daughters, Diane (Keith) Baughman of Eighty Four, Mary Ann Atchison of Eighty Four and Velma Lynn (William) Kehn of Arizona; a sister, Mary Ann Hughey of Bentleyville; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, William, Richard and Thomas Atchison. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, with the Rev. David Harner officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
