Ruth Louellen Pettit, 74, of Washington, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, in Washington Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1935, in Washington, a daughter of Roy and Myrtle Sickles Mantia.
Mrs. Pettit was owner and operator of Ruthie's Gifts and Crafts for 10 years.
She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading, flowers and spending time with her daughters.
Mrs. Pettit was Baptist.
On May 25, 1959, she married Melvin F. Pettit, who died June 10, 1988.
Surviving are a son, Michael J. Pettit of Pittsburgh; three daughters, Dorothy L. Warne of Spokane, Wash., Susan V. (James) Murphy of Washington and Saundra D. (Andrew) Callender of Canonsburg; a stepson, Keenan (Geralyn) Pettit of Michigan; 10 grandchildren, Ted "T.R." Warne, Mark Warne, James "Ben" Murphy, Rachel Berreth, Christopher Murphy, Tracy Dawn, Renee Pettit, April Pettit, Amanda Pettit and Alan Pettit; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Tracy D. Pettit.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 18, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Andrew Berreth officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
