Huston E.B. "Burly" Chapman, III, 68, of Eighty-Four, formerly of Bowling Green, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, in his residence, following a year-long battle with cancer.
He was born April 20, 1941, in Bowling Green, Ohio, a son of Huston EB Chapman II and Minnie Marie Harshberger Chapman.
Mr. Chapman was a member of Covenant Life Fellowship Church.
He was an executive with General Motors Corporation for 20 years and was owner of Dogwood Hills Golf Course, formerly the Double Dam Golf Course. Mr. Chapman was also a golf instructor for adults and children, and had been an assistant basketball coach for McGuffey High School. In addition to golf, he loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.
On August 8, 1964, he married his wife, Donna, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John (Libby) Chapman of Waldo, Ohio; a daughter, Jenny (Steve) Jenkins of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; two brothers, Tom Chapman of Casper, Wyoming, and Ron Chapman of Charlevoix, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Caroline, Kaitlyn, Matthew and Isaac Jenkins, and Colin, David and Faith Chapman.
He also leaves behind his dog, Darby.
Deceased is a brother, Max Chapman.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 11th, at Covenant Life Fellowship Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Life Fellowship for the Burly Chapman Memorial Fund, 55 Point View Drive, Washington, PA 15301.
