Edward A. Moninger, 68, of Houston, Texas, died March 11, 2010, in Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston.
He was born November 25, 1941, in Washington, a son of Margaret A. Jordan Moninger Bonner of Washington and the late Orley Delbert “Buck” Moninger.
Mr. Moninger graduated from Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, West Virginia and, in 1966, graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in biochemistry.
He had lived in the Houston, Texas, area since 1970, where he and Jeff Barton, his business partner, owned and operated several businesses.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, Duane (Sue) Moninger and Dick (Barb) Moninger; a brother-in-law, Bill (Elaine) Swatts; three nephews, Greg (Nancy) Moninger, Rick Moninger and Jeff Moninger; three step-nieces, Lori (David) Orlando, Kim Hanna and Krista (Eric) Miller; two step nephews, Brad Wurtzer and Bill (Cindy) Swatts; and several great nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his father, are a sister, Audrey Jean Moninger; stepfather, Robert F. Bonner; stepsister, Phyllis Bonner Swatts; and a niece, Leslie Moninger Leyh.
Friends will be received Noon to 2 p.m., the hour of service, Thursday, March 18th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Rev. David Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
